Hey there Traveler!

Where am I now?

I’m writing from the Tribal Hostel in Canggu, Indonesia. Affectionately known as Bali. This hostel is about $11/12 a night. A good spot for remote workers and entrepreneurs.

How am I able to travel?

I’ve been asked on many occasions how I’m able to travel. I’ve been able to maintain remote roles in SaaS sales. The companies I’ve had the pleasure to work for have been generous enough to allow me to work in exotic locations world-wide! … As long as I’m getting my job done and selling their solution. I do! 😀I perform much better when I’m in a coveted exotic location.

I knew what I wanted and negotiated for it with my role.

In devising my strategy to see all of these wonderful locals I had to remember one thing. My travels are personal to me. I needed to find out what type of travel worked with my work, lifestyle, budget and plan from there. I realized that this is unique to every individual regardless of perceived work or budget confines.

The Goal

I wanted to work out what I wanted to get out of my travels. Yes, I had to attach something with the experience. Total type A personality.  What I was looking to get from them? 

An experience in culture, language, food, communication, push my boundaries and yes. Fall in love at first sight. 

I’m familiar with the USA experience and well I wanted to see what I could move to expand my boundaries.

So in a nutshell I’m able to travel because I wanted to challenge myself to do the thing that looked impossible. Travel alone to other countries, meet new people, eat food I wouldn’t think of, feel the fear of being broke but learning to travel for my budget. And most of all experience the  beauty that’s out of a familiar setting inside of my country.

I know this post has not given you advice on budget, tips and tricks. I promise we’ll get there. What I want to do here is set the foundation and expectation. Allow you into my space so that you’re able to know me and my why. I think you’ll come closer to finding yours through my sharing and thereby will be writing of your travels in short order.
